Hey LAGERS It’s that time of year again. The bulk grain buy is now live through Apocalypse once more. Friendly reminder that we will be going through BSG this time around. Feel free to place your orders through us. We will be using the same bulk buy form that we used in the Fall and we will once again ask that all payments be submitted and processed BEFORE we place the order with Apocalypse. We do this to avoid ending up with several sacks of unpaid and unaccounted for grain. Note that prices have increased substantially due to many factors…

Hey LAGERS, we’re happy to announce a new and unique bulk buy. This time it’s for ordering all of the parts necessary for an iSpindel digital hydrometer. That’s a heck of a lot better than the $130 a tilt hydrometer costs. Price will vary based on the amount of orders we end up getting. The benefit to iSpindel is it is community built so people are constantly…

It is also our big opportunity to highlight homebrewing and the LAGERS club to the general public, friends, and family while supporting a good cause. Essentially, the idea is that we all brew a batch of beer individually and ferment it at Apocalypse. In years past, club members…

This month we will be meeting outside at Apocalypse Brew Works on Monday the 21st Tuesday the 22nd at 6PM for our first in-person meeting since the pandemic began. With the announcement of the state fair homebrewing competition happening this year, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to run you through a crash course in off flavors found in beer. Our very own sensory scientist and club treasurer, Sarah Popko, will be walking us through the proper methods to evaluate beer as well as common off-flavors found in beer, how they’re derived, and how to avoid them in…
