    NHC Asheville – LAGERs bring home two Golds!

    The American Homebrewers Association wrapped up the 46th year of Homebrew Con in Asheville, NC. The last day was the culmination of the judging for the NHC and the awards ceremony. We are proud to announce that two LAGERs brought home gold medals. Alex Rezmerski won in the Strong European Ale category for a Pale Dopplebock and Craig Martin won with his California Common in the American Brown category. Congratulations to both of these brewers.     LAGERS Cup Update: Round 2

    Congrats to Ron K for winning Round 2 of the 2026 LAGERS Cup and pulling into 1st overall. Sean S came in second place in Round 2. He is sitting at fourth overall. Nathan M came in third place in Round 2, which put him tied for second overall (with Craig M, Round 1 winner). A first place from any of the members tied for fifth at 8 points would catapult them into contention.     Reminder: June 15 Meeting & Updates

    Join LAGERS at our monthly meeting on Monday, June 15, at Akasha Brewing. Doors open at 6:30. Announcements begin at 7:00. Bring a homebrew for our monthly best beer on the table (BBOT) competition. As always, this is a great opportunity to get feedback from members. We will also be having a brewing gear show and tell. Bring some of your brewing equipment, especially anything you’ve built that makes brewing easier, cheaper, less time-consuming, higher quality or just more fun.     Call for Judges & Stewards: KY State Fair

    The Kentucky State Fair Homebrew competition will be August 14th & 15th, and we need your passion and expertise!   We are looking for both judging and stewarding volunteers.  In addition to BJCP judging points, again this year we are excited to offer stipends, hotel rooms, and a reception to thank all of our volunteers. Our competition has 3 judging sessions, starting Friday evening and continuing Saturday morning and afternoon.  We are hoping to judge 400 entries this year, so your beer/mead/cider knowledge, sensory and judging skills and enthusiasm will be greatly appreciated for any or all of our judging sessions.

    Monnik Happy Hour Tomorrow 5/27!

    Hey everyone – Just a quick reminder that we have a Happy Hour tomorrow at Monnik Brewing (1036 E Burnett Ave). The happy hour starts at 5pm, and head brewer/owner Buddy will give us a tour of the brewery at 6pm. We’ll be using the upstairs event space. When you walk in the front door, the stairs are in the back, directly in front of you.
