SUMMER PARTY NOTES–
Food
The Club will be providing Rosenberger pulled pork, as well as plates, cups, utensils and such. We ask you to bring a dish based on the first letter of your last name.
A-F: Appetizers/Breads
G-L: Deserts/Cookies
M-S: Casseroles/Sides/Soups
T-Z: Vegetables/Salads
Homebrew
Bring a keg of homebrew. BRING a keg of Homebrew. BRING A KEG OF HOMEBREW. If you don’t keg yet, then bring some bottles to share. We will have the MONSTER club cold plate set up so please show off some of your finest. ALSO bring a picnic tap along just in case we are overwhelmed with kegs and don’t have enough room on the cold plate.
Cellared Beer Tasting
If you want to participate (and you do!) bring a bottle of a beer you think will age well to be cellared. We will be opening and tasting each of the bottles brought to last year’s party to find out which ones have aged well. Always a fun event so don’t miss out!
If you brewed a beer for the Bud Hope Brew off bring your keg to the summer party, we will have the judging sometime during the party.
May Happenings:
May Meeting — Lara Augustine and her friend from the Kentuckiana Beekeepers Association provided the club with a very detailed presentation on beekeeping. Thanks to Lara and our guests for a thorough and informative session! The business portion of the meeting was concluded quickly with the installation of our officers for the next year– Christopher Owen as President, Justin Vasher as Vice President, Greg Butorin as Treasurer, and Jason Rosenberger as Secretary.
For our Monthly Club Homebrew Competition the winner was Brandon Schaefer with his Cucumber Mint Kolsch! Congrats to Brandon!
LAGERS Bulk Buy– the bulk buy was a huge success, thanks to all of the club members who participated. Thanks to our friends at Apocalypse Brew Works for helping the LAGERS club with this event!
LAGERS Spring Equipment Swap was held on May 21st. In spite of some rain in the morning we had a great day — some brewing equipment changed hands and we had a great Pulled Pork lunch.
Congratulations to LAGER member Craig Gardone for his gold metal at the MCAB competition. His winning beer was a Wee Heavy, nice work Craig. Hope we get to try that beer at one of our upcoming events!
