The Kentucky State Fair Homebrew competition will be August 14th & 15th, and we need your passion and expertise! We are looking for both judging and stewarding volunteers. In addition to BJCP judging points, again this year we are excited to offer stipends, hotel rooms, and a reception to thank all of our volunteers. Our competition has 3 judging sessions, starting Friday evening and continuing Saturday morning and afternoon. We are hoping to judge 400 entries this year, so your beer/mead/cider knowledge, sensory and judging skills and enthusiasm will be greatly appreciated for any or all of our judging sessions.

Join LAGERS for the first round of the 2026 LAGERS Cup on Monday, February 16, at Akasha Brewing. Doors open at 6:30. Announcements begin at 7:00 with judging starting immediately after. Please bring $5 if you’d like to vote. (Five-dollar bills make this process go smoothly! So do five one-dollar bills.) If you are submitting a beer, please bring at least 64oz. Label your container clearly, and turn it into Jacob as soon as you arrive.
