The National Homebrew Competition is the largest home- brew competition in the world, judging 4,335entries from 1,708 homebrewers across 50 states, Washington, D.C., and 13 countries. To progressfrom the first round to the finals is an accomplishment unto itself, but to bring home an NHC medalis one of the most difficult feats in homebrewing. Hey LAGERS! Hope everyone is ready for the October meeting this Monday. This month we’ll be live, on location, at Butchertown Brewing. The address is: 1860 Mellwood Ave #187, Louisville, KY 40206. Start time is 6:30 PM. Brewer/Owner Andy Cobb will give us a tour and talk to us about brewing his signature barrel aged stouts. In addition to that, we’ll still be doing all our normal stuff: BJCP feedback tastings at 6:30 (email me if you are interested in getting feedback on your beer!), eating pizza, and tasting of everyone’s homebrews! Volunteer schedule for Yappy Hour! Setup Crew (12:30-2:00pm): First Shift (2:00-5:00pm): Second Shift (5:00-8:00pm): Teardown Crew (8:00pm-Done) Brandon KG Schaefer and I will be there the whole day as well. If you haven’t signed up, we can *definitely* still use your help! I only scheduled everyone for one shift, but if you can come early and/or stay late, we’ll definitely appreciate the help!
