Next Meeting: May 19 | pH in Brewing

Join LAGERS at our next meeting on May 19 at Akasha Brewing Company.

LAGERS member Alex Rezmerski will discuss the impact of pH across the brewing process (mash, boil, fermentation) with a special focus on finished beer. Read up on pH before the talk.

Alex’s presentation will include a tasting of a beer adjusted to different pH’s.

We will also hold a vote for LAGERS officers. Learn more about the roles LAGERS officers play

LAGERS Cup Update

Round 2: Honey

Join LAGERS at the second round of the 2025 LAGERS Cup on June 16. The scoring system rewards participation, and the 2025 Cup is still anyone’s to win.

This quarter’s category is “honey.” Beer submitted must use honey as an adjunct.

If you are entering a beer, please remember to save 64oz of it for next month!

Round 1: Congrats to Sean Spaulding!

Sean S has taken an early lead in the LAGERS Cup by winning first place with his American Pale Ale on March 17.

Congrats also to Dan F, who came in second.

West 6th Farm with BOCK: June 12

Join LAGERS and BOCK (Brewers of Central Kentucky) for an afternoon of good beer, great company, and fresh air at West Sixth Farm. We will be swapping recipes, troubleshooting tips, and tasting notes with fellow homebrewers.

LAGERS members, BOCK members, and friends who love homebrew are invited to enjoy the farm’s outdoor seating, trails, hop yard, pond and more, as well as to enjoy West Sixth’s lineup straight from the source.

What to bring:

  • Bring homebrew, but please use discretion. No kegs. Bring a cooler or bag for your bottles and cans.
  • Bring snacks, picnic fare, or anything you’d like to grill up on the farm’s fire pits. The club will provide some chips and dips.

Please RVSP via Facebook to help us get an approximate headcount.
