    July 2021 LAGERS Meeting – BJCP scoresheet training

    This month we will be meeting in-person for the second time in a while at Akasha on Monday the 19th at 7PM! With the upcoming state fair homebrew competition, we will be talking about BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) judging, and we will provide you with beer to practice your judging skills on.     Don’t forget to get your recipe in for Yappy Hour!

    The deadline to submit a recipe is July 24rd, so make sure to get yours submitted soon! Yappy Hour is a great event for a great cause, and Apocalypse Brew Works will be covering all the basic ingredients (hops, malt, yeast) at no cost to you. We’re excited to see what you come up with!     2021 Yappy Hour Event

    Hey LAGERS!   With loosening restrictions, we’re pleased to announce that our favorite event of the year is back on! It’s Yappy Hour time! For those who are new to the Club, Yappy Hour is our annual charity event with Apocalypse Brew Works to raise money for the Kentucky Humane Society. It is also our big opportunity to highlight homebrewing and the LAGERS club to the general public, friends, and family while supporting a good cause.   Essentially, the idea is that we all brew a batch of beer individually and ferment it at Apocalypse.     June 2021 LAGERS In-Person Meeting Reminder – Off flavor crash course with a sensory scientist

    The LAGERS are finally meeting in person again at Apocalypse Brew Works, this Monday the 21st Tuesday the 22nd at 6PM! Our very own sensory scientist and club treasurer, Sarah Popko, will be walking us through the proper methods to evaluate beer as well as common off-flavors found in beer, how they’re derived, and how to avoid them in the production process.
