    December 17th Meeting – Dirty Santa Party

    This month is the Dirty Santa Party! To participate in the Dirty Santa exchange, bring a wrapped, bagged, or otherwise disguised gift. The cost/value should be around $10-$20. Generally it should be something beer or brewing related. More info on how the game works will be provided at the meeting– but it involves substantial amounts of treachery and deception!     November 19th Meeting – Style Guide: Brut IPA

    On Monday November 19th, we will start our quarterly/seasonal style guide series where we describe the history, process, and ingredients of a particular style with a beer to try. Brewers are encouraged to brew the style for the next meeting and taste/compare the different beers. The winner of a blind competition will go on to brew at Cumberland with Justin Vasher, former LAGERS vice president and now head brewer.  This November we will be covering Brut IPA.     Tired of all those stomach aches and bathroom runs after drinking craft beer? Join us at Akasha Brewing Company for a talk on brewing gluten free beers. Gluten free beers are become more and more popular, especially with those suffering celiacs disease. Award winning brewer Jake Wildstrom will go over the various grain types, alternative fermentables, and processes for brewing gluten free beers as well as some commercially available products to reduce gluten.
