February 7th tapping of Evan Brill’s winning IPA at Gordon Biersch Brewery. In the fifth annual Lagers Homebrew Club competition at Gordon Biersch Head Brewer, Nicholas Landers challenged the brewers to bring him a hoppy beer. Known by most as the “King of Hops”, Evan Brill recently had the opportunity to see how many pounds of hops he could put through the downtown brewery. All you hop heads will want to taste this massive IPA. Nicholas Landers also promises we will see Evan in a wonderful winner sash. Armando Barajas brewed the Official 2018 Tailspin Ale, Gimme S’More, with Leah Dienes at Apocalypse Brew Works. This traditional Dunkelweizen is flavored with cinnamon and vanilla that gives it a little toasted marshmallow taste. Campfire here we come. The fifth annual Tailspin Ale Fest will fly into operation February 17 at Bowman Field with 75 breweries, bands, music and happy people. Armando’s Gimme S’more was selected this year from dozens of Lagers Homebrew Club entries, vying for the opportunity to brew on a large commercial system and share their beer at the Tailspin Ale Fest.
