    On Monday October 15th, Sarah Popko will be diving into the details of brewers yeast genealogy. Ever wonder about the origins of the yeast you use to make beer? Where did it come from? How did it evolve? Why do we use it? Sarah will be tracing the genetic family tree of commonly used yeast like Saccharomyces Cerevisiae and Brettanomyces Bruxellensis.     Yappy Hour 2018 Volunteer and Beer Details Survey

    Hey LAGERS! Don’t forget, Yappy Hour is coming up Friday September 28th. If you brewed and haven’t kegged your beer, please be sure to do that ASAP. The deadline has passed so we cannot guarantee that your beer will be carbed fully at this point. We are looking for volunteers to help setup, bar tend, and take down the taps and tables.     September 17th Meeting – Brewing Gluten Free Beer

    Tired of all those stomach aches and bathroom runs after drinking craft beer? Join us at Akasha Brewing Company for a talk on brewing gluten free beers. Gluten free beers are become more and more popular, especially with those suffering celiacs disease. Award winning brewer Jake Wildstrom will go over the various grain types, alternative fermentables, and processes for brewing gluten free beers as well as some commercially available products to reduce gluten.
