Recent Happenings–

The LAGERS Holiday Party was held on January 20th and was a great time! We had over 20 homebrews on tap as well as a number of additional samples brought in growlers/bottles. The food was amazing– thank you to all of the club members and guests for bringing so many good things! Special thanks to Tim Rosenberger for his excellent pulled pork, it was outstanding!

The raffle was also a great time, thank you to Justin Vasher for your hard work in securing all of the swag for our giveaway. Thank you also to all of our sponsors and friends who donated items for the raffle– these events are our prime fund raisers for the club, so your generosity has a tremendous impact on the things we are able to do and accomplish.

Our January meeting was well attended in spite of some particularly nasty weather. The snow dig not stop the LAGERS from getting together, and didn’t stop our keynote speaker Dibbs Harding from presenting a fascinating study on Lactobacillus in Ky Common– along with 3 varieties for members to sample!

Nicholas Landers from Gordon Biersch took a moment to announce the winners of this year’s GB/Lagers Pro Am competition–

1st Place — Evan Brill
2nd Place — Brandon Shaefer
3rd Place — Justin Vasher
HM — Craig Gardone

Evan spent some time with Nicholas recently brewing his winning IPA on the GB system. We will follow up with an announcement about the tapping party when more details are available, and we hope to see the winning beer on tap at the Tailspin Ale Fest!

Our members and guests brought 19 different beers to for our monthly club competition (not counting Dibb’s samples!) Contributors were–
