The Kentucky State Fair Homebrew competition is August 11th & 12th, and we need your expertise! Our competition has 3 judging sessions, starting Friday evening and continuing Saturday morning and afternoon. We judged over 450 entries last year, so your beer knowledge, sensory and judging skills will be greatly appreciated for any or all of our judging sessions.
This year, we are able to offer to 10 BJCP Judges (Recognized & above who judge 2 sessions and travel over 100 miles one-way) a check for $100 from the Kentucky State Fair. Additionally, for those traveling from out of town, several members of the LAGERS hombrew club have volunteered to host incoming judges Friday night, August 11th. Both are first come first served, so please do not wait to register. If you want to make sure you secure one of the host rooms, then please contact me directly. Address and Parking
Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, Kentucky: South Wing
When you enter the fairgrounds, stay to the far right side and tell the attendant that you are there as a judge for the competition. They will not charge you for parking if you go to this booth. After you get past the parking entrance, you will see a large building to the right. The entrances that are open to this building are up towards the northern end of this building near the middle. Once you get in, look for the signs that tell you where we will be judging. (Usually we are in rooms 101-102)
